A one-mile walking tour covering covering 12 sites throughout Old Town, Alexandria. The walk highlighted the achievements and contributions women have made to local history.
An annual job shadowing program that exposes youth to various occupations and job sites. On April 25, over 100 students from T.C. Williams High School explored various career fields.
During the month of March, the city's Sexual Assault Awareness Center sponsored displays, exhibits and workshops to support survivors. "Yet I Stand" is a play based on the story of a young girl's experience with sexual assault.
It was an honor to have Eileen Filler-Corn as a guest speaker at this event, where we had a panel of other women leaders discuss the challenges women experience when it comes to civic participation. We had an engaging panel with Delegate Charniele Herring; President of the Feminist Majority Foundation Eleanor Smeal; President & CEO at Alexandria Economic Development Partnership Stephanie Landrum; CEO & President of the Breakthrough Way Eleanor LeCain; and Michelle Millben, panel moderator and the Founder of MGMC Enterprises LLC.
